Session Messenger

• Step-by-step instructions:
  • Install Session on your phone or computer from the official store or website.
  • Open the app and click the “Create Account” button.
  • Create a profile name (Display Name) and enter it—it’s just for show; your contacts will see it, and you can’t be found online by it.
  • Customize your notifications and click “Continue.”
  • Copy your unique Session ID (66 characters) and share it with your friends to get started. Communication.
  • To message someone, click the green round + button, then click “New Message,” and then either manually enter the 66 characters of the person’s ID or click the Scan QR Code button in the top right corner and then scan the QR code from the video/photo with your smartphone camera.

• Important Security Tips
  • Be sure to find the Recovery Password / Recovery Phrase in your profile settings and write it down.
  • Without this phrase, you will not be able to restore your account and contacts if you delete the app or change your device, since the account is not linked to your identity or SIM card.

As you can see, you don’t even need a password or phone number to register! Literally 5 seconds! The only downside is that it only works with a VPN.

• Installation and First Launch
  • Download the SimpleX Chat app from the official store (Google Play, App Store) or from the developer’s website.
  • Open the app on your phone.
  • Click Continue or Create Profile if the start screen appears.

• Profile settings
  • Set a local name (it (It will only be visible to those you show it to, and can be changed.)
  • Set a password or biometrics to protect the application upon login (for security purposes).
  • Add your first contact by scanning their QR code or following the invitation link.

I didn’t really like this messenger, especially the PC version. When switching to Russian, everything is broken, and when I try to set an avatar, everything crashes…

Steps to create an account

• Go to the official website Tox and select the download section Tox Downloads.
• Download the official or recommended client for your operating system (for example, qTox for computers or Antox / Berty for mobile devices).
